How Our Women's Classes Differ

It's no secret that women have unique fitness needs and goals which differ from those of men. While our All Levels Calisthenics classes are welcoming to all, including women, we understand that some women may prefer a workout tailored specifically to these differing goals.

The main thing that sets these classes apart is the supportive environment fostered in a women's-only setting. Being surrounded by like-minded people striving for similar goals allows individuals to work out without feeling self-conscious. This encouraging atmosphere helps to motivate participants to stick to a routine, leading to better results.

Women also have differing requests and requirements from their workouts compared to men. Our coaches design workouts that specifically target body areas often requested by women, such as the core, glutes, and upper body. We also incorporate skills that prioritise flexibility - another commonly requested area for women.

Alongside this, we pride ourselves on our experienced women's coach, Lauren, who has over 7 years of calisthenics experience and specialises in training women going through pregnancy and post-partum. This experience makes Cali Fit Women's Class the perfect fitness class for pregnant women.

What a Women’s Calisthenics Class Looks Like

Our Women’s Calisthenics Class is thoughtfully designed to address the fitness goals and preferences commonly requested by women. Here's how a typical class is structured:

  1. Targeted Warm-Up: We begin with a dynamic warm-up focusing on key areas such as the core, glutes, and upper body. This prepares your muscles and joints for the workout while also activating the specific areas you'll be working on.
  2. Main Workout: The main portion of the class includes a combination of strength training and endurance exercises. You’ll perform bodyweight movements like push-ups, squats, lunges, and planks. Our coaches provide variations and modifications to ensure that each exercise targets commonly requested areas such as the core, glutes, and upper body, helping you achieve a toned and balanced physique.
  3. Skill Development: As you progress, we introduce advanced calisthenics movements tailored for women, such as core-centric exercises and flexibility-focused routines. These skills not only build strength but also enhance coordination and body control. Our coaches guide you through each step, ensuring you develop these skills safely and effectively.
  4. Cool Down: We end the class with a cool-down session that includes static stretches aimed at improving flexibility and aiding muscle recovery. Special attention is given to stretching the muscles used during the workout, ensuring you leave the class feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

Meet Lauren - Our Women's Coach

Our women’s classes are led by Lauren, a certified calisthenics coach with years of experience in calisthenics and helping women achieve their fitness goals.

Lauren began training with us in April 2024, where she has since run many successful and packed-out classes. On top of that, Lauren gave birth to her first child at the end of 2023, which has given her a new insight and first-hand experience on what it's like to train while pregnant.

Lauren's passion is to spread this newfound knowledge in her classes and help ladies in a similar position achieve their fitness goals while welcoming a child into the world.
